Bontago
Bontago is an intense single or multiplayer 3d real-time strategy game. Players begin with flags (one color for each player) spaced evenly around the edge of a large disk, called the field, balanced on a fulcrum in the center. Around each flag is a circle representing that player's controlled area. Every few seconds a block appears on each player's cursor. The players must place the blocks somewhere in their controlled areas. Players can place the block at any moment in the allotted time, or can hold it until time is up and the block will fall on its own and be replaced by the next block.
The goal of the game is to encompass all of the world flags in the controlled area. To expand the controlled area, the player must build upwards and outwards. The radius of the controlled area (and thus the area the player may place blocks in) is determined using the height of the player's structures perpendicular to the disk. If controlled areas of opposing players meet, a hole is formed in the disk in the overlapping region. The first player to possess a continuous area containing the world flags wins.
Real-time multiplayer strategy. Up to 8 players can test their skills online.
Blocks are given randomly to players and come in a variety of semi-random shapes. The base block unit is a cube. Several types of blocks are made as a combination of base units.
Specialty blocks can be attained by extending the controlled area around gift boxes randomly dropped on the map during the game. The next block the player receives after encircling the crate will be a specialty block. These include volcano, earthquake, rocket, and other blocks. Smashing a specialty block in any obvious way will activate it.
Experiment with free-form building in the sandbox.
Bont?go uses realistic Tokamak powered physics, and the disk can tilt on its fulcrum if certain special blocks are activated. Towers will fall, blocks will slide off the game world, and specialty blocks will wreak havoc on opponents. Although the rules are simple, strategic thinking, quick reflexes, and a bit of luck is required to win this game.

Shadow Armada

Marvel Super Heroes
The Marvel Super Heroes remake by SpiDoL is a decent effort developed with the MUGEN game engine, though some text editing is required to get the sound working. Search for the Data folder and change the Sound configuration value in the mugen.cfg file from 0 to 1, in order to enable the sound effects plus some background music.
Most of the standard and special moves from the arcade version have been retained, hence veterans should be able to figure out the controls in no time. Some of the new characters are pretty fun to play with as well. Thor is especially impressive, but Carnage is rather cheap and Todd's creation has little powers. A simultaneous team mode also allows all four combatants to slug it out at the same time.

Nexuiz is a first person shooter in the tradition of quake. You can create a server or join a server already in action. When I checked online, there are several active servers playing this game, so you shouldn?t have a problem finding a game. A lot of work went into making this game a fun and balanced. If you have ever played quake then you have a good idea of what the gameplay in this game is like. The weapons, movement and action are inspired by quake and the game runs on an advanced Quake 1 engine. Once you are in the game, action is very fast paced and hectic like you would expect. Movement is fast and you must jump around and aim well to get as many kills as possible. The weapons come in a wide variety and are well balanced. The game comes with many different maps, not something you would expect from a freeware game. Although its no Half Life 2, the graphics quality is extremely good for a freeware game, considering its running on a modified Quake 1 engine. The textures are good high quality and the player and weapon models are fair. This game should run smoothly on most graphics cards. Overall, I think the game is definitely worth a look, especially if you like fast paced first person shooters. Don?t miss out on the mayhem.

This is one of the best freeware adventure games out there. I really enjoyed playing this game, it has a good story that will keep you wondering what is coming next. After the Dungeons and Dragons fantasy setting of Revolution?s first game, Lure of the Temptress, Revolution decided to go down a completely different avenue with its second adventure game, Beneath a Steel Sky, that of Science Fiction. A bleak vision of the future was imagined, where mind control and medical science combined forces to repress the populace. Leading comic artist, Dave Gibbons, joined the design team to visualise this desperate landscape. The result, released in 1994, was the cult classic Beneath a Steel Sky.

DoChun-Poung was victorious and in order to make sure that
the oppressive reign of the Evil Blood Emperor would not return;
he cut the Evil Blood Emperor into 4 pieces.
Many decades passed...
Sa-Do, the son of the Blood Evil Emperor, was determined
to bring back his father from the dead in order to re-establish
his reign of terror. Sa-Do journeyed throughout the land in
order to locate and collect the 4 pieces from his father?s corpse.
After the reunification of the 4 pieces was complete signs
that were foretold occurred. The black star appeared
in the sky to signal the beginning of the new reign of terror.
One of the suns turned black while the other one turned red.
Shortly thereafter, black clouds covered the sky and blotted out the daylight.
After many years...
Most of the living creatures in the land became extinct due to the destruction of the natural resources needed to sustain their lives. The few species that did survive turned into human/monster-like creatures. They called themselves the "Evil Monster". One of the monsters, Lak-Sa, unified all monsters in order to strengthen them against any possible survivors that might try to challenge his group.
Lak-Sa became the strongest being in the world. He had the strength both human and monster. Although he unified the monsters some years ago, he now realized that he has to create a group of followers that would stop them from ruling the land. Due to his superior strength and skill; Lak-Sa defeated one martial arts master after another. Finally, he made a pact with the martial arts masters that he had defeated, but not destroyed to create another group of followers and increased his power to use against the monsters.

Last Scenario is a game made using the popular RPGMaker XP that could possibly rival Aveyond's level of professionalism, perhaps even surpass it. Tiles, music and sound effects are standard material that is included with the package, but most of the character portraits, sprites and backgrounds seen in this release were created by the developer.
The C key is used for most interactions and menu selections. Press the X key to access the inventory screen or to cancel any choices. Cloud combines an experimental game mechanic with a moody, surreal environment. The player is Yun, the "cloud boy," who can soar through the sky gathering and shaping the clouds. Clouds are dark or light, and as Yun makes his way, he must purify the dark clouds he finds by surrounding them with light clouds. Through out the game, the player, as Yun, learns how to navigate the world, how to collect clouds and create shapes out of them, how to use clouds to create various types of weather patterns and eventually how to confront and defeat the dark clouds that have invaded the sky. Cloud uses particle simulation to simulate a puffy, fluid feel for its cloud world. Using attraction and repulsing force, the clouds in the game are like digital clay. The intention of the project is to create an emotional game experience that resonates with players' youthful memories and fantasies about playing in the clouds.

What is Shadowbane? A simple question, but not so simple to answer. Shadowbane is many things to many people. The game is officially classified as a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying game (MMORPG or MMO for short), but there are some who would classify it as a real-time strategy game. Which is it?
Well, both actually. Shadowbane uses many elements from strategy games such as city building, sieges, territory conquest, and tactical formations and weds them to a game system similar to other fantasy MMORPGs. Players level and adventure in Shadowbane as they do in other MMOs, but Shadowbane offers unique activities in the game world, adding reasons to continue play after the more conventional RPG has been mastered.
Shadowbane has expanded the concept of what an online persistent world RPG can be. Rather than focusing on the story arc of the single character and taking the game no further, Shadowbane extends the experience by creating a backdrop of political intrigue and warfare for players to become engrossed in. Players can join together to form guilds, raise armies and conquer Kingdoms. Leaders marshal their strength to build keeps, temples and fortifications. Armies battle their rivals to control resource mines crucial to their kingdoms' growth. Combat Arms
I have been playing Combat Arms for about a week now. In my opinion it is one of the best free first person shooters you can find. I have played a lot of fps games, commercial and free and this one is right up there with the best. Once you register and setup a username, you get to choose your players basic identity. You have the option to purchase various weapons, modifications, armor, and other gadgets to help you win. If you have ever played CounterStrike then you will be right at home in this game. The game feels and plays a lot like CS.
There are different game modes but personally I only play elimination, which consists of two teams trying to reach a set amount of kills, usually 140. I also like the one man army game mode which is basically a free for all. There is a variety of maps in the game, from large sniper friendly maps to small sub machine gun friendly maps. My personal favorite map is Junk Flea. The competition in this game is pretty varied, but for the most part, your opponents are pretty average compared to a game like Counter Strike. This is mainly due to how new this game is. I find this to be great, since I love to beat up on noobs, as I am sure you will as well.
As a new player starting out I will give you some basic tips to help you survive. First of all, buy heavy armor and a helmet to help you survive longer. As for weapons, I personally like the SCAR, AK-47 and UMP. All the guns in the game are pretty good if you get in a bit of practice. If you are using a sub machine gun on a small map like Junk Flea, avoid places where you have to shoot long distances and strafing works wonders, especially against average people with rifles. The sub machine guns are great for new players because of the low recoil and mobility.
When you get kills, at the end of each game you earn experience and cash which you can use to unlock and buy more stuff for your character. Overall this is a great game you should definitely give it a try.

Spice Trade is a business trading game similar to merchant prince. The graphics are completely 2d and consists mostly of static images with a point and click interface. The game has a unique style in its graphics which gives it a nice atmosphere. This game is a java application and in order to run this game, you need to have Java virtual machine installed on your system.
You start out as a poor lonely merchant in Baghdad who has a small plot of land and a home. Your goal is to become wealthy and gain the influence of Asian and European cities. The game has many historical references and is a good tool for learning a bit about the Muslim culture during the time period. You can buy seeds and grow them on your farm land to start out and sell the plants that grow for profit. Once you gain enough wealth and purchase the necessary documents, you can travel between cities to sell your spices for profit. You can collect various artifacts and map pieces in the game which serve some purpose which I have still to figure out. The economic system in the game is very simplified and once you learn a few tricks it becomes too easy to gain a lot of money. This might bother hardcore gamers but casual gamers would probably still have fun exploring all the aspects of the game. I enjoyed this game for the first few hours I played it, but once I became obscenely wealthy it became somewhat repetitive. This is a great game to play for a little while and live out your dreams of becoming rich and powerful in the 14th century Asian/European world.

Ore No Ryomi 2
This game offers an interesting mix of action and strategy elements that make for a unique experience. The graphics in this game are lackluster and probably won?t impress you, but the unique gameplay more the makes up for it. This game is the sequel to the original Ore No Ryomi, with many improvements and more features.
You are the owner of a restaurant who starts out with a little money. You can use your money to buy various items to add to your menu. Some of the foods you can include soft drinks, burgers, pizza and salad. Each of the different foods requires a different method of cooking. When a customer orders an item, you switch over to an action mini game where you must cook the food by performing the required sequence of keystrokes. For example if you wanted to serve up a soft drink you would scroll left or right until you picked the correct soft drink and press down until an indicator lets you know the drink is ready. Each of the foods has a varying difficulty of cooking and a varying selling price which usually correlates to the difficulty of cooking. When the restaurant is open customers will come in and you will have to take orders and serve their items as fast as you can. You will also have to sometimes wash dishes and dispose of trash which require different sequences of keystrokes. Sometimes you will be robbed and you must chase down the criminal in order to retrieve some money. After the restaurant closes for the day you can purchase menu items or upgrades for your restaurant. You can add a buffet to your restaurant to get additional money or add delivery service to your business. Overall an interesting game worth a try.

I of the Enemy
Alien races have been bitterly fighting for supremacy of their universe. An Alliance has formed between the lowly Lokob, the physically imposing Rag'ha and the technologically advanced Y'dray, in an attempt to stem the onslaught of the menacing Unath. The Unath are said to have invaded this star system in a quest to maintain supplies of a chemical which is the basis for their technology and is found in the bodies of all of the Alliance races. Needless to say, you don't want to be taken prisoner! So the Lokob put up with their second-class citizenship because victory over the Unath only seems possible with the help of the Y-dray and their knowledge. The player is a Lokob officer who holds the exhalted title of "Commander of Armies" and is in charge of his race's contingent. Colonel Verkkal (voice talents of Ian McNeice, famed for his role as Baron Harkonnen in Dune) is his trusted friend and Field Commander. Emphasis in this game has moved away from gathering, mining and building, and instead concentrates on interesting tactical problems.

Space Corps
Space Corps is an overhead space ship combat game. In this edition you are part of a massive space battle and must help your team achieve victory. The game is played in a manner akin to a death match with respawns whenever you die. Every time you are killed your next ship will be slightly weaker, in contrast if you score the killing blow or do 1/3rd or more damage to an enemy ship that is destroyed your ship will be slightly more powerful. Collect the large star power up for an instant ship upgrade. The small stars will repair your hull armour back to full. When shooting at enemy ships be sure to try and get around behind them as the rear armour facing is the weakest, all ships have very good frontal armour. The "M" power up will add on 10 missiles in to your racks. The weakest ships fire rockets, but more powerful ships can fire homing missiles and deadly torpedoes. The weakest laser is coloured red, green lasers do more damage and blue lasers are only fitted to the most powerful ships. The xeon laser is very slow firing but can potentially do a great deal of damage. Mass drivers fire very quickly but are inaccurate, although they do not penetrate armour well their combined effect can be devastating if multiple rounds hit.

This is an excellent adventure game with excellent graphics and a great plot. The download size is very large 200 Megs! One of the biggest freeware games, but well worth the download. Make sure you unzip the patch into the directory where you install the game before you play.

In Ta-Ta Mahatta, the player is the brain behind the Ta-Tas to vanquish the Fungi Colony. The player will start off on the cloud. The cloud is where the player can choose to play a level or hang around and do interesting activities.
The player can choose to play a level by entering the mysterious ?Level Select? house. Once inside the house, the player can select any unlocked level to play. A level can only be unlocked by finishing the previous level.
Each level will start the player off with one to four Ta-Tas. The level will start with a description pertaining anything to do with the level and the goal.
The player can choose which Ta-Ta to control by pressing the select previous or select next button. Each Ta-Ta has its own unique ability that the player must use in order to pass through the obstacles found throughout the level.

Our story takes place in S?ramir, a large continent where many different creatures use to live and give each other good thrashings. According to elvish chronology, it's the year 9992 Lyr. Somewhere near the northeastern shore lies a town called Ashford, capital of a small kingdom of the same name.
Our title character is Iysayana, the only elf in Ashford. For her, life is nothing but a great party. She really doesn't think about anything else than bashes, boys and booze - until now. The goddess Yw'nafob forces Iysayana to become a heroine and save Ashford from the evil Lord Shadmyr. The problem with it: First she must find out why Shadmyr is evil at all. And the other problem: Iysayana's companion is just her boring ex-husband Odilbert...

Heroine Iysayana is a Japanese-style role-playing game. Most of the time the game will be played in a 2-D perspective. This is where you walk around and explore the land, talk to people, visit shops, explore dungeons, search for treasures and so on. Whenever the party runs into monsters the game will change to a special turn-based combat screen. If you defeat your foes, your heroes will gain experience and money. At first Iysayana is on her own, but during the adventure other heroes will join your party. The different characters have different abilities, e. g. one may be a healer and another one a warrior, so make best use of them.
When characters have gained enough combat experience they will grow stronger and learn new magic. You can use spells to attack monsters, but also to heal or strengthen your characters. But note that your magic energy is limited and must be refilled from time to time. Talk to the people in the towns to gather more or less useful information. Take a rest in an inn to restore your characters' health. There are stores where you can buy and sell weapons and armors. Other items can be used to heal the heroes in mid-combat.
The game can be played using the keyboard or a joystick and comes with a detailed help file. You can save and load at any point. Go out and become the heroine the kingdom needs!
Heroine Iysayana is a trilogy: The first two parts of the game are already available and ready for play, and the grand finale will follow within the next months. Windows 98 or higher is required.

In the present day, or at least what science-fiction writers fifty years ago would have imagined the present day to be like, is an island floating in space somewhat near Earth. On this island live long-faced, bug-eyed, tentacled aliens called Ekrats. In addition to being filled with these locals, the aptly named Ekrat IslandTM is a popular spot for human tourists to visit. Every day, hordes of humans arrive on the island in little spaceships to enjoy many facilities including but not limited to the Horniverous DevilTM restaurant, Baked Potato's Bar and DiscoTM, and the new attraction specially built for humans themselves, the HumanCoasterTM.
Until, of course, all the humans start to disappear. And the ships transporting them to and from the island are no longer in service. This is bad for the Ekrats; humans, being wealthy tourists, help the Ekrat economy greatly.
And so, one day, there is only one human left. In an attempt to find her companions, she enlists the aid of Ekrat IslandTM's only (yet somewhat reluctant) private investigator, Cubert Badbone. In this cheesy, low-budget game, you play the part of that private investigator. Now what are you waiting for? Go find those humans!
